Dr. Bashir Mobasher presents his recent book, Constitutional Law and the Politics of Ethnic Accommodation in an event at the American University, co-sponsored by the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies, Immigration Lab, and the School of Public Affairs.

Dr. Bashir was joined by three esteemed panelists, Dr. David Lublin, Professor and Chair of the Department of Government, and Michael Sullivan, international law expert and affiliate of the Department of Justice, Law, and Criminology at the American University. The panel was chaired by Dr. Ernesto Castaneda, Professor of Sociology and Director of Immigration Lab and the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies. The panelists discussed the Afghan Constitution of 2004 and its impact in the failure of ethnic accommodation. They also discussed the problematic role of the international community in rushed constitution making that led to flawed institutional designs in Afghanistan.
